Our Vision

To stop violence before it escalates, we must acknowledge the roots of our conflicts. Then, we must take a step further— to reconcile with those whom we share conflict with. Conflict acknowledges our innate differences; it is a testament to our very aliveness. When we’re equipped with the right tools, conflict allows us to solve problems. To more deeply understand ourselves, and each other. To grow as people, and as a community.

It’s how we respond to conflict that determines our destiny. We must make the conscious decision, every day, to choose peace. To walk the challenging road toward a beloved community, free from the cycle of violence.

In the face of social and cultural challenges that can feel beyond our control, like poverty and racism, peacemaking grounds us in our power. The practice of nonviolence treats the causes, instead of the symptoms.

Together, we can overcome conflict and catapult change for every one of our neighbors.
